Spring Paper Crafts

Paper crafts are fun activities for your family, friends, or just yourself on a Saturday afternoon. You can build flowers, cards, and gifts. Here are some wonderful spring paper crafts for your family’s next weekend.

Paper flowers- Makes two to three flowers

Items you will need:

  1. 4 to 6 paper doilies

  2. stapler

Directions:

Step one:

Take one doily and fold it as follows: fold in half, then fold in thirds, then fold in thirds again. You will want to fold the doily four times. Then staple at the base.

Step two:

After stapling the doily, you will carefully unfold the edges of the doily. You want to pull them apart and out.

Step three:

Repeat steps one with the second doily. Then you will want to cut off the bottom tip, about 1 inch, maybe 2 inches off. Then trim off another 2 inches off the top of this piece. When you look at your second doily, it should be the middle piece that is approximately 4 inches long. Please note, it may be a slightly different measurement depending on the size of your doily and what you have cut off.

Now you are going to want to open up this smaller doily just like you opened the first one. Be careful, they can rip easily.

After you have completed both of your doilies, you will want to staple them together. You will place the small “flower” into the larger one. Once you have stapled them together, you will want to carefully fluff them out.

Book flower holder-

Items you will need:

  1. old book

  2. scissors

  3. glue stick

Directions:

Step one:

Open the book to the center. Take approximately 1/3 of the pages from one side of the book and cut them in half. Do the same thing with the other side of the book.

Step two:

On the left side of the book, grab three to four half pages from the top of the pile, place a strip of glue on the edge of the pages, and then fold them into the center. Do not crease the pages. You want to leave a bend in the page. Now work your way until you have all of the half pages glued and bent into the center.

Step three:

Follow step two with the right side of the book.

Step four:

Let the book dry overnight.

Now your craft is done. You can set it up and add fresh or fake flowers to the book. This is a wonderful way to add a splash of color to a bookshelf.

Some Bunny Loves You-

Items you will need:

  1. Small white or brown paper bags.

  2. Sharpie pen

  3. Scissors

  4. paper grass

  5. variety of candy

  6. ribbon

Directions:

Step one:

You will want to draw a curved line along each side of the white/brown bags. This will give you the line to cut to make the bunny ears. See the diagram below for an example.

Step two:

Cut along the curved lines.

Step three:

Draw your bunny face! You can add eyes, a nose, and a mouth. This is where your creativity can shine. If you want to add a pink nose, great. If you want to add wiggly eyes, by all means. You can decorate the bunny face however you want.

Step four:

Fill the bunny with the fake grass. I found mine at Dollar Tree. Then place your candy on top of the grass.

Step five:

Take your ribbon and cut a 12-inch strip. Tie the ribbon around the neck of your bunny.

You have a fun spring gift for a co-worker, friend, or foe. Enjoy!
